First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out . . .
Giving over entire lanes on the St Johns to bicyclists was a very weak move. But, I accepted it. The next canary in the mine shaft was Fessenden. You'd think blue water cargo vessels would drop anchor elsewhere and quit bothering people with the whole goods to market thingy. Currently, Lombard has been having a long and gruesome time of it. Today I drove Willamette Boulevard for the first time in a while.
It is now twenty five miles an hour which translates to this quaking mask worshiping community as 20. Should someone headed to town need to turn off of Willamette and drop down to Lombard the traffic comes to a dead stop because no one will put a wheel in the scared bike lane to go around the stopped turning vehicle. North Portland used to have potential. Portland has an app for that.
Actually I prefer a quieter Fessenden but the speed bumps are over the top.
I think the solution is to have a bridge from Rivergate to Hey 30 and get the semi’s out of St Johns. I feel bad for the truckers trying to navigate these streets with walkers, tweakers who wander in the street not obeying traffic signals and bike riders.
Willamette is too slow as is Lombard.
If we ever have to evacuate we will be in a world of hurt.
Too funny. Not funny was the damage to my new tire and wheel from hitting a pothole on Lombard. I love the flamingos🦩🦩

Thank you for giving us look at the lighter side.
I hope more of them land all over Portland and make nests in the many comfy potholes. 🤣
