Portland voters, despite their alleged advanced education, are remarkably uninformed about the math when they vote on things; witness the passage of the insane school bond issue. In the case of the development of the "lid" and its fantasy that the old [i.e. black] community will come roaring back to Albina, the only winners are going to be those ABT Insiders who are developers and their ilk. The black population is dropping and is now half the Hispanic demographic. The nutty charter commission quickly discovered how dispersed their priority minority population was when they discovered they couldn't create an all black district. Reality hurts, too bad facts don't matter either. But, it ain't over til it's over.

Hey, we’re doing this huge, multi-billion-dollar “transportation” project, where the Federal government is going to give us ~1.5% of the necessary funding, and there is going to be “leftover”, “surplus” property that is going to be given away for $1 as reparations for having built a freeway through black people’s houses who were more displaced from their homes than white people and white-adjacent people from the same era, such as committee-person Pham’s ethnic forebears. It’s going to be awesome, and no white developers are going to make any money so it’s going to be like a triple, rainbow ice-cream serving with sprinkles and color tv’s on top!

Oregon legislators don’t look at the unintended consequences of what they vote on. It’s mostly wish fulfillment. Would it occur to any of them to have asked, “Is this a good idea? What is it going to actually look like 20, 30, 40 years from now?”

Is this Portland’s answer to America's inner-city public housing projects of last century? How did those turn out?

“Herman Greene, who had been leading the charge for the schools to donate their Prophet Center….. got unelected Monday”

Unfortunately Greene’s replacement is a PAT stooge. They own her. Don’t expect much.

From Wweek:

“Greene has so far raised just $375, according to campaign finance records. . Chase-Miller has raised around $27,300. Her largest contributor is the Portland Association of Teachers (PAT), which has given $10,500 to her campaign and also endorsed her candidacy.”

Pham is one of the biggest Commies in Salem. She seems to have forgotten why half her relatives died and why her family fled Vietnam.
