SB 1110 is moving from committee this week. It gives lottery bonds to “Williams and Russell CDC”…whose board chair is JT Flowers…whose day job is at Albina Vision Trust. The grift is strong.
So Larry, what animal do you feel gender connected to? As usual the comments were worth a look. Having just finished watching a joint meeting of the state House and Senate Judiciary committees discussing guns, I was amused by the commenter who wrote, “Smith and Wesson are my pronouns.”
I had heard about him. Shame on the Lynwood City Council. They had another candidate they could have chosen. How soon before this guy moves to Portland, where he can run for City Council, get elected and start earning some serious money.
Since black culture is the ultimate in cool for America, white people have followed them out of the crosswalks and into the streets. In Portland, some pedestrians and bicyclists believe their rights take automatic priority over drivers, so that adds another dimension. In response, some drivers are automatically anti-bicyclist, anti-pedestrian. Everything is politicized in Portland.
The hypocrisy continues.. A Katu article online today reports that the Oregon legislature just increased the age to marry from 17 to 18 with mention that Oregon law states one can’t consent to sex until 18. This coming from a super majority held legislature that has ruled minors can determine their own gender and seek gender affirming care despite parent input. We’re being legislated to death by hypocrites running this state into the ground and as Richard pointed out in this piece with regard to gender care by ignoring and burying the facts. Funny how they’re not ascribing to their own so called philosophy of “follow the science”…. Remember that?
So black communities in Portland are experiencing a disproportionate number of traffic deaths. We need to close that gap. Here’s how: More white people need to die in “traffic violence.”
We need a Shirley Jackson-type lottery. Remember her famous short story we all read in junior high (back when students had to learn how to read to graduate). All white people would be required to participate in this lottery. The "winners" — instead of being stoned to death — would be run over. Portland could finally be known for something besides rioting. We could become a national model in how to erase racial disparities.
You know who should volunteer to be a winner in the PBOT racial disparity lottery? Our friend Therese Bottomly over at The Oregonian. She’s retiring anyway. Let her go out with a big crash.
Another great article, Richard. And I love the humor, too. So many good parts. It took me a few years to see how extremist liberal politics have been destroying Portland and this country. Now, my name is MUD among Portland progressives. They tell me, "You're not a real Democrat!" I don't care anymore. I'm not afraid of being hated. That is one of my strengths. LOL...
So vandalizing property isn't a form of violence, but car accidents are now known as "traffic violence"? Give me a break. If they want to know what real violence looks like, they should hang out in Dawson Park.
As for the meat markets on 82nd Avenue, the PPB should be ashamed of themselves for not calling the hookers sex workers.
And of course no mention by PBOT of the negative impacts of enabling homeless camping. The easiest way to halve our traffic deaths is to end unsanctioned camping. But that wouldn’t be compassionate would it?
“While people experiencing homelessness made up less than 1% of Multnomah County’s population in 2023, they accounted for 19% of traffic fatalities. Disturbingly, half of the pedestrians killed that year were homeless, with 12 out of 24 losing their lives in fatal crashes.”
I predict when the truth of the chop-shop OHSU business is fully revealed and the leftist AG runs out of steam defending it, that institution will suffer dire reputational and financial consequences. But, then again, this is Oregon. So maybe not.
As a centrist Dem and a sex realist who has been following the trans cult closely for several years now, I am convinced that so-called trans rights is a hill most Democrats are still willing to die on. They're impervious to facts, logic or reason because trans activists have conditioned them to view anyone who expresses the slightest criticism of gender ideology and its social consequences as a hater and a transphobe.
OMG...keep it coming...I need a good laugh after spending ANY time on our FB page and reading the comments by the leftist trolls! 😍😅 Don't know if you caught the comment by City Councilor Loretta Smith when City Councilor Jamie Dunphy said we should look at consolidating some of the redundant job duties....like Equity Officers. Councilor Smith said "no way" we need every one of those. DEI is strong in this one! 💫
Where can I find that Loretta quote? I can't wait till she puts Candace 'Sob Story' Avalos in her place. She will, too. It will be fun to watch Loretta cut her down to size so to speak. LOL...
Loretta is no better than the rest of them if she prefers to cut essential services instead of getting rid of the fluff (DEI, Black Male Achievement Analysts, Office of Civic Life, non-profit giveaways, etc)

Just because it's Oregon:

I dunno. I'd prolly go weasel or trash panda spirit-wise
My lived experience is that black people won’t use crosswalks. Crosswalk 20 feet away? Nah, cross wherever.

Very good work, succinct

That's what happens when parents who were throwaway kids have throwaway kids of their own, and so on ad infinitum.

It was the District 1 interview with Sophie Peel. It's towards the end I believe.
i appreciate the humor, and the flow chart for building permits
