Excellent piece. I would only note I doubt your supposition this audience of social Justice warriors might have treated the speaker differently had he raped the victim before killing her. This is painfully evident now as leftists deny or justify the October 7 rape of Israelis. The end justify any means by these characters.

People need to remember that Sterling Cunio murdered Bridget Camber and Ian Dahl. That reality will never change. He devastated dozens of lives, and caused so much pain for so many people. The other reality is that he will pay for what he’s done.

As to the Avalos woman, she’s hated white people for decades. I’ve heard this from white Portlanders, and some black people I know as well. There’s an element to haters like Avalos who really get off on knowing some black guy murdered a couple of white kids and got away with it.
They always want people to remember the names of murdered black folk, but murdered white folk? Nah. They’re less human. “Blue eyed devils” don’t ya know?! Avalos is a total hater, hence her trying to silence you. I’m glad you stood your ground.

Cunio should acknowledge every time he’s engaged at a public speaking event, the names of the two young lovers he so brutally murdered in cold blood. HE should say their names, regularly, but he won’t. Because he’s a coward and also because he doesn’t care.
I doubt he’s ever cared about their lives. When he and his buddy joked about how they “jumped” after being shot, that shows total depravity and disregard toward human life. That attitude and perspective can’t just be wiped away. It remains deep inside.
