Bob seems like a decent guy. He sure is a lot more qualified than Chuck Lovell who got pushed up way too fast. He must be feeling a lot of pressure to do what he did.
This is ANOTHER article that I cannot stomach reading fully. These people that BOW to the devilish are beyond PATHETIC! They need to RESIGN and become Mall Cops (NO slight to Mall Cops)! There will come a day, very soon, where EVERYONE that has partnered with darkness will be held to account. They will no longer be around to TERRORIZE people. ETERNITY is a VERY, LONG TIME and especially when all you will ever smell again is sulphur and death; where they are going.
Yes, because these mayors that are HARBORING ILLEGAL ALIEN'S will be JAILED THEMSELVES! I cannot wait to see the first one get the LEG IRONS and PERP WALK!!!! Notice how the mayor of Chitown has started to buckle ever since he got that nice little 'invite' to testify before CONgress...amazing how a little REALITY can totally make even a certified COMMIE do a 180! This is the GOOD kind of Fear!
If nothing else, Pam Fitzsimmons gets the award for bravery--a quality lacking in the rest of the town's press corps.
This case had a noxious odor from the get-go; media quickly memory-holed the antifa guy with the rifle, Mr. Bumpus (a nom de guerre?). Where's Bumpus now? And was there a proper forensic investigation of the shot that paralyzed "Deg?" Were any other Antifa armed? Did they fire any rounds? No one has ever seemed interested in finding out.
One of the other aspects that no one is interested in is the probable infiltration of Antifa by the FBI. They've got rats in just about every other organization--it's hard to believe they wouldn't have had "assets" within the most active street-fighters in the Floyd Riots era. Maybe Elon can sort that one out. (It's a sure bet that AGT Rayfield won't bother.)
Only when it is the ones they want to ENSLAVE! dems always seem to head for THE DARK SIDE, eventually! They are CORRUPT and EVIL to their very core! And I am not only referring to the political persuation--you have to be 100% DELUSIONAL and TOTALLY MENTALLY DISTURBED to go along with what they are PUSHING these days! PURE, EVIL!
Among Antifa’s objectives are intimidation of law enforcement and government and to undermine the public trust. Over the 100-plus days of 2020’s Summer of Love, Antifa achieved that goal, even to the extent that it continues now in 2025.
The moral scandal Portland media will not write about is that advocates for so-called racial justice in this city chose to champion "a black gang member who shot and wounded two other young gang members in downtown Portland" immediately before being shot and killed by police.
The paper with two names described the incident this way:
"Police have said Kimmons shot and wounded two men amid a fight, then ran toward officers who heard the gunshots. One officer said he saw Kimmons shove a gun into his waistband and then reach to pull it back out. The other officer said he saw Kimmons point the gun toward them."
Have they no shame?
Justice for Patrick Kimmons? What about justice for the victims of black-on-black gang violence?
The most shocking aspect of the Normandale Park story was the speed with which OregonLive/The Oregonian slapped the "mass shooting" label on it. At first I mistook it for a story about a real mass shooting elsewhere, though Normandale did technically qualify as one. Barely.
One part of the story remains a blank, as far as I know. I gather that somewhere not far from the site of the shooting the usual "Justice for Patrick Kimmons" dupes were assembling. Is that correct? If so, were any of them armed? Reporting on earlier incidents related to the pointless justice marches said some of the marchers had long guns. Was that the case on the fateful night? If so, why has the Portland media maintained an embargo on that fact? It's possible to slant the news by choosing what not say.
As far as I am concerned, those smartass "corkers" were asking for trouble with their lawless disregard for motorists' freedom of movement. Well, trouble found them in the end.
"At first I mistook it for a story about a real mass shooting elsewhere, though Normandale did technically qualify as one. Barely." I hadn't realised that there is an 'official' definition of 'mass shooting' which the N. P. event might qualify for. I thought that the media use the term whenever they judge it opportune to do so.
I have been trying cases for 40 years and took a lot of political heavy lifting get victims' statements allowed, but never in my career have I ever seen someone go so far off the boards as Beck did - in fact in my last death penalty case the trial judge refused to allow the family of the two people murdered to say anything in court!
The Portland Police ceded the streets to violent rioters, so Chief Day owes apologies for far more than their inability to police one demonstration.
In an unrelated observation, the obsession the "antifa" neofascists have with home ownership versus renting seems wildly inappropriate for people who celebrate diversity and claim to respect people regardless of whether they can afford the average of a $500,000 home in Portland!
What role did Mayor Wheeler play in keeping the police from policing? I followed the riots closely. Wheeler vacillated between ignoring the rioting, talking tough and retreating. I got the feeling Wheeler was afraid the ACLU would sue the city if the police contained the assembled mob before it could set out on its planned rampage.
On the nights when the crowd assembled in response to a call for an anarchist "direct action" (their announcements with the date, time and place were always posted on Twitter in advance), it wasn't necessary to be an FBI special agent to know their only reason for being there in their black bloc gear was to commit crimes. I don't think the police ever prevented a single direct action from kicking off.
As an aside, there is no official history of the Portland riots of 2020-21 that I know of. That is a terrible oversight. We do not know who the principal organizers were, which sector of the left they came from and what they called themselves. For that matter, we don't know why they suddenly stopped their rampages. I suppose, however, that some local reporters, especially on the staff of the lefty rag The Portland Mercury know a lot more about who was involved than they've been willing to report.
As 2020 was winding down, the Citizen Review Committee (Portland’s oldest group for citizen oversight of police) discussed doing research into the protests and gathering data. The committee worked up a questionnaire, posted it online for anybody to answer.
At the time, the committee was chaired by Candace Avalos (now on the Portland City Council). You can imagine how objective the CRC’s research was. This was a direct quote from Avalos at one of the CRC meetings, explaining all the protests: “People here are super-passionate. It’s in our DNA.”
You can see where she was coming from. It’s all right to be super-passionate, provided you are passionate about the same causes as Avalos and her friends. Check out her X/Twitter page if you want to see how open she is to criticism.
Thank you for the information about the questionnaire.
I am surprised CRC was willing to collect data that might have reflected badly on the protesters and rioters. Perhaps the CRD questions were worded so as to elicit information critical of law enforcement, local elected officials and the people behind whatever issue they were protesting.
She needs to look up the etymology of "passionate" and then compare it to that of "hysterical."
I must invoice you for the tankercarload of eyebleach needed after searching on her and clicking on "images."
What's with the posing-with-sausage-fingered-hand-on-hassock-sized-hip-while-standing-diagonal thing? Is that believed to have a slimming effect? Isn't that RightSizePhobic or something?
She needs to focus more on learning how to put down the fork...though I guess gluttony is super passionate and in her DNA as well.
But now I feel guilty on your behalf. So consider the invoice settled.

Thanks, Richard, but hands down the bravest journalist when it comes to covering antifa is Andy Ngo (formerly of Portland). I attend a lot of Portland police oversight meetings. Just the mere mention of Andy Ngo’s name scares the natives.
There was a meeting about four years ago via Zoom where Andy signed on with a question. He was immediately booted off. I followed with a question, and the natives didn’t like me, either. They demanded I be removed, and the “facilitator” acquiesced.
The Portland free speech crowd is only interested in upholding free speech for people they agree with.

Portland is on the same projector. Mayor Wilson refuses to cooperate with ICE in detaining criminal illegals. Is there any hope for Portland? 😪😫
Yes, because these mayors that are HARBORING ILLEGAL ALIEN'S will be JAILED THEMSELVES! I cannot wait to see the first one get the LEG IRONS and PERP WALK!!!! I always learn something and gain new insights from your reporting Pamela. Thank you!
Portland: making Sodom and Gomorrah look like Mayberry.
There are going to be a LOT of pillars of salt...

Can you imagine what would happen if Elon Musk visited Portland? The entire city would have to go into lockdown.
I find it Interesting that in a city full of left leaning Democrats there are so many guns. Don’t they believe in gun control?

You nailed it: "Portland media maintained an embargo on that fact? It's possible to slant the news by choosing what not say."
They choose "not to say" about a ton of other issues.
Portland is another word for multilevel dysfunctional pathologies!

Right on. It's a scandal, in itself, that Pam is the only Portland journo willing to ask these questions.

Disgusting...😒
Portland has become a very intolerant city.
Libs never seem to see how their selfishness impacts others.
THEY KNOW. The thing is, they JUST DON'T CARE!
The irony that everyone else can see is THEY ARE THE FASCISTS!
