Bynum's ethno-narcissism needs to be called out for what it is. With luck and the grace of God shell be a one termer, though with the Democratic party of Oregon machine she'll probably keep the seat as long as she wants it. Either that or they'll recruit Oregon's premiere political climber Candace Avalos to fill it in two years.

I didn't see a lot of mailers filling my box begging for money, but I did see lots based on Abortion daily. Sometimes two a day. The commercials I saw were 90% about Abortion. Nationally, that issue is not a winning one, but locally it seems it is. I expect 2026 to be abortion, abortion, abortion, abortion...

They don’t solicit for money via mailers but use text messages and emails. On a daily basis I heard from Harris/Walz and, to a lesser extent, Bynum. If you respond via text with STOP, the begging is supposed to stop. It doesn’t.

I received so many texts from Harris/Walz, I started to enjoy them, especially if they involved celebrities. George Clooney, Julia Roberts, et al called me their friend. Sadly, I never heard from Barbra Streisand.

Just earlier today I received a text from the Harris Fight Fund, telling me to roll up my sleeves and send them $50. The presidential race is over, but the money grubbing never ends — which is why abortion is so big. It wouldn’t surprise me if the people in charge of Planned Parenthood’s fund-raising weren’t secretly thrilled at Trump’s election. That organization and ACLU got a big boost in donations the last time he was elected.

Abortion shouldn’t be a political issue, but it’s a terrific moneymaker. Democrats, in particular, want to keep it alive. Long before she died, Ruth Bader Ginsburg warned that Roe v. Wade was a poorly written decision. Had she taken Obama’s advice and retired so he could appoint her replacement, the Dodd decision might have been different.

As it is, the Democrats put the Dodd decision to good political use — even in Oregon where abortion is under no threat. Apparently the D’s in Oregon want women to think with their uteri and not their brains.

You are so right about the text messages. I was getting three or four a day, and replying STOP was as effective as wishing on a falling star. I even would even slide the text to the left and choose "Delete and Report Junk" and that was a waste of time.

Ugh, I'm moving to PDX (though we decided to make it Beaverton after witnessing the walking dead downtown for a week) next month and I am NOT looking forward to being in the belly of "woke" after having finally moved myself out of it (internally) for the past few years.

Beaverton is better. Portland is like being in Stalinist Russia or Nazi Germany. If someone made frankenbabies from the DNA of Stalin and Hitler, the offspring would be 85% of Portland.

Apologizes for not knowing the difference between a water cannon and hoses? Because she was born in the 1970s? Seriously. LOL...Apparently she doesn't have a smart phone with access to Google?

Google is always a resource.

"A water cannon is a specialized device that shoots a high-pressure, forceful jet of water over a long distance, often used for crowd control or firefighting, while a water hose is a flexible tube used to deliver water at a much lower pressure for typical gardening or cleaning tasks, like watering plants or washing a car; essentially, a water cannon generates a significantly more powerful water stream than a standard water hose."

Without the assistance of Google, even I knew this. Where do these uneducated people come from? And why would anyone admit they don't know the difference between a water CANNON and a water HOSE?

Because all she cares about is playing the race card just like so many politicians in Portland.

When REAL elections return to Oregon, her and many others will have a rude awakening.

We need to be optimistic and keep pushing. we’ve done it before we can do it again. I may be dead by then also, nonetheless we know the goal more clearly than before.

Getting her out of Oregon with nothing to do in DC might actually be a victory for the rest of us.

Bynum has been dealing the race card from the bottom of the pack for years. She has lived a life of considerable privilege and may find being the most junior member of Congress among 435 people - all of whom have illusions of grandeur - may not be as much fun if both the White House and Speaker's Office are controlled by the OTHER party.

But I will never forget is how , when the Oregon Legislature finally adopted a compromise bill that modestly expanded the statute of limitations in which the child victims of sexual abuse could later sue their abusers, the vote passed in the Oregon House 59 to 1 - the SOLE vote against this modest effort at justice being Rep. Bynum, who indignantly said she would not be party to another bill that "would jail innocent young Black men wrongly accused by white girls."

Wow! Most child victims of sexual abuse, both girls and boys, are abused by family members and family friends. Why would anyone think that expanding the statute of limitations result in "innocent young Black men" being "wrongly accused by white girls"? Thankfully, 59 members of the House voted for this important bill and it passed.

yeah, sounds racist.

"Young white women are being raped by black men..." Sounds like something the Grand Wizard would say.

I don’t for a minute believe Bynum is concerned with getting anything done other than scoring BIPOC pointlessnesses. Komrade Bynum will, however, be fine at the national level when it comes to korectly identifying the difference between a protest and a riot, where BIPOC-she kan surely be kounted upon to get the job done.

Janelle Bynum may wish that she'd struck a deal with Candace Avalos whereby Avalos would run for first Blacktina in Congress and Bynum would stand a strong chance of serving on Portland City Council forever. Bynum would be a big BIPOC in a small pond again.
