Pamela, Have you seen on the Oregon SOS page that the Oregon Food Bank on 5/1/2023 gave "Friends of Tina Kotek" $75,000. Is this somehow part of Kotek's donation of La Mota campaign contributions? What is going on here?

Did you see Oregon Food Bank is a MAJOR donor ($15,000) promoting the passage of the Multnomah capital gains tax measure 26-238? And Kotek gave her dirty La Mota marijuana cash campaign money (they gave her $68,000 in cash) to the Oregon Food Bank. So instead of buying food for the hungry OFB gives money to political campaigns. https://secure.sos.state.or.us/orestar/cneSearch.do?cneSearchButtonName=search&cneSearchFilerCommitteeId=21677&OWASP_CSRFTOKEN=V3KX-V0I9-WULO-CI2M-NLAU-FKI2-7JXM-44EB

I was privileged, through my father, to meet one of Oregon’s great men - a Republican, an Independent, a Democrat.

Truly the “the Lion of the Senate,” afraid of nobody, who gave his senate seat to try and stop the lies of the Vietnamese War.

Those monetizing his name are noteworthy to say his name!.

I wasn't much for him as a boy and young man. I knew even less then than I know now. Or vice versa. Anyway, Morse, Scoop Jackson, and a few others . . . seem to have been among the best American legislators the 20th century.

Perhaps what started my reappraisal was seeing Senator Morse speak from his home. Not the manse of a looter from either BLM or the current Royal House of the American Senate:

I wonder if Portland public schools teach the kiddies about mavericks such as Wayne Morse. (One friend's daughter graduated from PPS without learning that Maoist China killed millions of its own citizens.)

Is there any politician in the Democratic party machine who will ever buck the system?

The nepotistic nature of Fagan’s arrangement with Mota, and her impervious belief that she would emerge unscathed reveals just how commonplace corruption has become among today’s politically elite and well-connected. Pick any major issue and you will find it. I could not help but think about the incestuous relationship between the FDA, CDC and the drug companies as I was reading the article.

On an unrelated note, I agree with Fagan that the salary of her elected position is laughably low. State reps barely make over 40k?! How in the world are you expected to attract highly qualified, competent people (from the private sector) unless they are already financially well-off?! Short answer, obviously, is that you don’t.
