I've lived and worked in the news biz in cities that had reached their tipping point and were now on the long slide downhill--most notably Detroit and Philadelphia--and I see the same symptoms here in Portland. But I really do believe that voices of reason might just have a chance, with luck, to save a really great town.
I have hope too. It's hard sometimes but I really have hope. I look forward to your and Pamela's editorials so much, as fearless voices of reason... which is what Portland really needs right now...
