We are headed toward the abyss while saner minds have begun to scale back some of these victim supporting perspectives that will keep the intended beneficiaries in the equivalent of servitude forever instead of helping them developing the agency they're surely capable of and taking responsiblity for pursuing a productive future. Woke intent =s wasted ives.
Considering the hash that compañera Rubio made of regulating AirBnB (and her flippant attitude when confronted by the media about it), it’s brazen of her to be spearheading a massive permit reform scheme.
Black male achievement will reach new heights as Portland’s bureaucrats follow the Oregon Department of Education in eliminating standards that are “harmful” to blacks.
“BMA Portland uses a data-driven approach to highlight disparities and then uses that information to hold systems and leaders accountable to ensure the barriers that prohibit Black men and boys from access to health, safety, and success are removed and redressed.”
Whatever we do, let’s not hold black men and boys accountable for their own failure to succeed. It’s derogatory to call a black man “boy,” but it’s very progressive to treat black males like helpless children.
The announcement also has the gall to include one of the city’s core values as “fiscal responsibility.”

Like too many of the City of Portland's social initiatives, BMA Portland gives every impression of violating the spirit and perhaps even the letter of laws that prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin and, yes, sex.
It does not have to be this way. African Americans are not the only people in Portland who face obstacles that prevent them from enjoying success in life. Unlike the equity bureaucrats in City Hall, poverty is race blind. One of the greatest flaws in today's DEI programs in Portland-area governments is their focus on racial and ethnic identity instead of socioeconomic class. Using a person's income, assets, occupation, educational level and other socioeconomic factors to determine their eligibility for social programs instead of prohibited factors such as race, ethnicity or sex isn't just the legal thing to do. It's the right thing to do.

Not to be overly meretricious, but what gets me is the lower end of the official cost projection for this deliberately pre-broken system of non-democracy was only $900,000 when it appeared on the ballot. Now the estimate is 25 times that, now pegged at $25 million. For a city losing population and with it’s biggest office buildings at 90% vacancy, the upcoming election for a dozen city councilors will be political hari kiri, except without the honor!
Portland City Hall bears a striking resemblance to the Oregon State Hospital as depicted in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” only worse.

Great story again Richard. Frightening what’s coming down the pike.
And idea who will oversee the Portland Black Male Achievement Analysts? (This is not a joke, it’s a real thing).

That’s incredible, Javier.

If BIPOC leaders want to eliminate barriers to black male success, they need to look within their own culture also and fix what’s broken.
They probably are. It's often the White Saviors in Portland that create nonsense programs like this.
