Richard, I think there may be a couple of “sleeper agents of pragmatism and common sense” on the commission that really amped up their wokeism so Wheeler would appoint them. Will be interesting to see if they can stop the progressive train of the fundamentalist led secular religion of misguided racial justice that is the controlling force in the failed city of Portland. I hope there are some fireworks.

So I guess Jo Ann Hardesty and Candace Avalos are keeping their power dry so they can each run for seats on the new city council?

Hardesty was noncommittal about the charter reform when interviewed by the media not long before the election. It was then reported that 1) Hardesty met with Avalos; and 2) Hardesty came out in favor of charter reform.

What sort of deal did the city's two leading grievance queens strike?

Thanks for tracking down these bozos.

It is almost “opera buffo” as my late father, a political science professor at the UofO for many of the politicians of the last generation would have said.

Truly terrifying for anything less than the “Mad Max” version of Portland!

This is great news. The real fun is just about to start. Gettin' it good and hard. Nothing is stopping them now. Nothing will, of course, top Tina as gov, but this is a close second.

If you really want to enjoy the full impact of what is coming sell your property, move away, and load up on the popping corn. A juggernaut whose time has come is arriving.

Like BLM nobody will ever track where the money went. It will be impossible to say where the decency, the culture, the arts, the capacity for self-governance, the understanding of what came before, the necessity for divine blessing, the careful education of children, the cultivation of civic pride ---oh, you know all that shit ...went.

You've got to abstract whatever Portland connection that you have. Simply pray the ice flow that you've hopped upon lasts out your life.

An old sci-fi book The Day of the Triffids had a refrain the good-guy characters intoned when marooned and beset by the titular creatures, "When are the American's [able, can do people who will bring about our salvation] coming"? Don't gots to ask that in Portland. The Americans? They are long gone and they ain't coming back.

The Thirteen feature an awful lot of process and gloss, but not a lot of substance. A lot of spenders, but very few earners. Put less charitably, the nonprofit parasites grossly outnumber the productive hosts.

You can't make this stuff up!

Wow. Thank you for the recap.

Not one person there with any relevant business experience from which to draw.

I am terrified of what Portland has become and what it will become.

Apologies to any grad of PSU with a real degree. For the most part whenever I see a "Grad of PSU" it is some worthless piece of shit degree. All these blurbs on the committee members sound like dressed up hoo-ha as well. I suspect the DUI specialist is the most deserving and astute of this group of thirteen.
