What is particularly sleazy about this is using the strong support for choice for abortion to drag through the keyhole a much less accepted position on immunizing adults for encouraging life-altering surgeries on minors.
There have been marked changes in the policies regarding juvenile gender surgery in most western European democracies on which the "progressives" in the United States like to model themselves on, yet zealots seem to only harden their positions.
This is so absurd on so many levels. A part of me wonders if the only solution is a "passover" where each of the dems of Salem experience consequences to really shake up their thoughts and actions thus freeing the common sense taxpayers of our state.
It’s a sad state of affairs. The super Trifecta majority of the Oregon legislature makes it all but impossible for Republicans to represent their constituents. Walkouts are the last and final attempt to wrest power from away from those who have shown no deference to the will of the people, the OR constitution let alone the well-being of ordinary, hard-working and law-abiding citizens. Matter of fact, I’d go as fas as to say they care little for Oregon’s most vulnerable, our children, as evidenced by the tyrannical emergency-power edicts from On High during Covid which substantially impacted our young ones. Between fentanyl and lockdowns/No in person school - how many children have been harmed and/or died as a result?! I don’t want to know the answer to that and apparently the OR Legislative body,including Gov Kotek, don’t want or don’t care to know either.
