It would seem the demand for hate crimes exceeds the supply. Least, that’s what I’ve read.
I’m 66 and have a mighty thin retirement program. But, were I compelled to wager on the truth of this claim no doubt exists as to how I’d wager. None at all.
In Roald Dahls book 'The Witches' there is a scene in the kitchen of a restaurant where a waiter returns with a steak that a customer claims is too dry. The kitchen staff line up and the waiter walks by with the steak and everyone spits on it. He then returns the steak to the customer. I've worked as a waiter a job I was terrible at but it did teach me to be nice to the help.

In my old age I sometimes forget I had dinner but I wish I could forget stories like this but alas there is no selective memory dump.

Why is Pam Fitzsimmons the only Portland journalist who follows the old news biz dictum: "If your mother says she loves you, check it out."
Thanks, Richard. Don’t forget our Portland Trib friend, “Inkberrow.” She helps keep the Trib honest.
Also, The O’s Maxine Bernstein did a story yesterday that deserves serious reading. She even included a link that has a photo of the suspect.

In terms of local media: if you throw enough darts at the target you'll occasionally hit a bull's eye.

Too right
Make the plaintiff give a DNA sample so it can be compared to the semen that was allegedly in the salad.
