What the hell are they teaching our kids in our public schools?

….critical race theory, homelessness, addiction, progressivism, and other afflictions.
Rufo drives progressives nuts by finding documents that they would rather keep within the church. Most of these documents are leaked by apostates, which was the case with Rufo’s find today. It’s a treasure-trove from the Portland Public Schools.

By the end of fifth grade, the curriculum explicitly asks students to make a “commitment to change,” according to the dictates of gender ideology. Students receive a list of six commitments, including: “I commit to learning more about what LGBTQIA2S+ words mean and how they have changed over time”; “I commit to learning about the history and leadership of Black trans women”; “I commit to practicing pronouns and correcting myself EVERY time”; “I commit to attending QSA/GSA and being a leader at my school”; and “I commit to watching and reading books, movies, and TV shows that have LGBTQIA+ characters.” In other words, they commit to becoming political activists for queer theory and the broader sexual revolution.
It would seem impossible that any of the so-called reporters who do so-called coverage of the school system are not aware of this curricula. The only explanation for why nothing has been written about it—or of other schools’ references to teaching in critical race theory…
…is that the media-class actually believes that this isn’t “news.”
And that parents—like their readers—should just shut up and go with the flow.

Oregon's history with the KKK runs deep
…which is just one aspect of progressives’ jihad to make white folks feel guilty about events a century ago, events that they can’t change and that play into a racist trope that is as old as “Blood Guilt,” which, if Portland Public Schools is teaching real history, didn’t turn out well in Europe in the 1940s.
Which brings to mind a conversation with a friend recently, in which she revealed that her daughter—an honors graduate of PPS—didn’t know that there had been man-made famines in China under Mao; and that Cambodian Communists killed people because they wore eyeglasses, symptom of “privilege;” and many other ideological atrocities—until she happened to take a course at PSU about Southeast Asia.
(Which leads to the question: how come PSU let that stuff into the classroom.)
It was the first time she had heard about the greatest human catastrophe this side of the Black Death: the 20th century’s experiment with ideology carried to murderous ends.
But she sure knew about gender. And vulvas.
And all those metastasizing LGBTQIA2S+ initials.
Really appalling, but what drives me crazy is the invented history of Oregon as a “white, racist KKK paradise.” I want to chalk most of it up to ignorance, but I fear a lot of is willful lies.
Oregon became a state in 1859, when America’s greatest crisis - the battle over slavery - was taking place. While some states joined the Union as slave states, Oregon’s motto was “the Union,” fighting words when blood was being shed in Kansas and Missouri over the issue.
Oregon was a harsh place in the early 19th century, settled by religious New Englanders, most of whom were bitterly anti-slavery, but others, from the South, like Territorial Governor Joseph Lane, a blatant Confederate sympathizer. In order to prevent open warfare a compromise was reached, theoretically barring Black people from coming to Oregon. Yet these laws were NEVER enforced. In fact when a few southerners tried bringing slaves to Oregon the territorial courts awarded the former slaves their freedom.
The KKK was indeed a political player right after WW1, just as it was in other, NORTHERN states like Indiana. But what goes unmentioned is that the KKK’s animosity was directed at two different “others,” - the Chinese who had come from California and China and who helped build the West, but particularly Catholics, who the Klan hated. The KKK managed to drive most of the thousands of Chinese from Astoria and they railed against Catholic schools, and succeeded in passing some of the toughest laws in the nation requiring public, not parochial schools. In 1920 the Black population, well before either of the two “Great Migrations” was almost zero.
Yet Oregon enjoyed a political renaissance of sorts, first with the election of Governor Oswald West, a century ago, along with the “progressive populism” of William U’Ren (the most significant Oregonian you’ve never heard of). He brought the popular referendum and direct election of US Senators - true democracy - to Oregon, and America. In 1930 Oregon elected its first independent Governor, Julius Meier, a Jew who was loathed by the OREGONIAN.
The real history of Oregon is lost in the fog of wokeness, and Oregon’s public schools’ historical parents were…the Klan!
