Dr. Peters and His Marvelous Vagina-Making Machine
An extraordinary video direct from the OHSU Transgender Chop-Shop
Dr. Blair Peters, a professor of urology and plastic surgery, is a star member of the staff of the Oregon Health Science University’s Gender Clinic. Here he is in his surgical suite where genitalia are robotically snipped, shaped, and sculpted…
…in pursuit of gender affirmation.
You may recall that we previously noted the work of the busy surgeon here in…
OHSU's Castration Machine
…by the Manhattan Institute’s Christopher Rufo, which took a dim view of Dr. Peters’s work; we also noted Dr. Peters’s ground-breaking research here in…
Their Slip Is Showing
…in which we discussed Dr. Peters’s discovery of…
…10,000 nerve fibers in the marble-sized human clitoris, the organ responsible for sexual pleasure in female bodies…
…which he obtained from…
…clitoral nerve tissue from seven adult transmasculine volunteers who underwent gender-affirming genital surgery.
Last year, we also wrote about the Clinic (including their offshoot at the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital) here and here.
We hate to say it—but that would make this itty-bitty ‘stack the only real source of information about the clinic in town. We’ll decline the honor since it’s a symptom of a strange journalistic reluctance to deal with controversy, which is the mother’s milk of journalism—or used to be.
If you depended on local media to provide a perspective on one of the hottest sexual-medical topics today…well, all you would find is this rewritten press release in the Tribune…
…which revealed at OHSU would get $7-million from an outfit called the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, to…
…evaluate the role of peer support for transgender and non-binary individuals seeking the gender-affirming surgery vaginoplasty…
We doubt any de-transitioners will be among the “peers” sitting at the bedside of patients awaiting their plasty-thingy and Dr. Peters’s robotic knife. And does anyone remember the county’s disastrous experiment with “peers” at its lavish Behavioral Health Center a couple of months ago?
So what, exactly, are Dr. Peters and his colleagues in the “top” and “bottom” surgery business—hysterectomy, oophorectomy, orchiectomy, phalloplasty, vaginectomy, vaginoplasty, vulvoplasty, gender-affirming mastectomy, breast augmentation, laryngochrondoplasty, scrotectomy, penectomy—up to on Marquam Hill?
Dig around on YouTube and X (nee Twitter), and you’ll find a remarkable 37-minute interview with Dr. Peters himself, bright carmine hair and all. The interview is conducted by an unidentified questioner perched in front of an LGBTQIA2S+ banner, and was posted early in July.
If you’re interested in the nuts-n-bolts of the craft of turning men into women—and vice-versa—and the various permutations of what robots can do to human anatomy, give it a watch. You may notice, along the way, that Dr. Peters is a bit uncertain about how all of this “plasty” will turn out in five to ten years—but full speed ahead anyway. And pay special attention to the discussion of adolescent skin. And “dilation.”
Brace yourself…
It’s essentially gender clinic shop-talk, and at least one iteration has gone “private” on YouTube—but then, nothing ever really disappears on the web. So it has been chopped and edited and repurposed by various interested parties on the warring sides of the gender jihad.
This is just one tiny skirmish in the gender wars; but to paraphrase the cliche, it’s where the scalpel meets the skin that really counts. And the battle grows apace…
In Oregon, the progressive machine is all-in on gender transitions and even would like to amend the state constitution to embed “gender affirmation,” hopefully forever.
Oregon kids over 14 may decide to undergo gender surgery without parental consent.
While 20 US states—those dreaded “red” ones—are making some of the routine interventions by the OHSU Clinic illegal for minors.
European nations—Finland, Denmark, Norway, France—have put the brakes on so-called “puberty blockers” and other forms of gender reassignment in minors.
The U.K. closed its only gender transformation clinic earlier this year; it had performed gender surgeries.
An international group of clinicians and researchers published a statement saying, ”More and more European countries and international professional organizations now recommend psychotherapy rather than hormones and surgeries as the first line of treatment for gender-dysphoric youth.”
You won’t read any of this on OHSU’s Gender Clinic website. In fact, one of their staff’s videos dealing with transgender care has been mysteriously memory-holed…
Why?
No one in local media seems interested in asking. About this or anything else at the Gender Clinic.
We will.
If OHSU’s 24/7 press department runs true to form, our query won’t even be acknowledged.
”More and more European countries and international professional organizations now recommend psychotherapy rather than hormones and surgeries as the first line of treatment for gender-dysphoric youth.”
That's great news if you live in one of those fortunate jurisdictions overseas, but mental health practitioners wishing to retain their professional licenses in states in which the legislature, governor's office and licensing boards have been captured by gender identity ideology had better make sure they're offering "gender affirming" psychotherapy. Otherwise, efforts to determine the source and validity of a minor's claims to be trans or to adopt the time-honored approach of watchful waiting, which allows for the possibility that the child might desist during adolescence, will get the therapist disciplined for engaging in so-called conversion therapy.
Like the Soviet regime bricking up the final passages to freedom in the early days of the Berlin Wall, transgenderist activists and their illiberal progressive "allies" are closing off avenues of resistance to creeping trans totalitarianism.
Here's the Orwellian reply I received from the office of my representative in the Oregon House, Tawna Sanchez, when I urged her to oppose giving children over 15 the legal right to visit Dr. Peters and his amazing sex-change machine (and every other gender-affirming quack in the state) without their parents' knowledge and consent:
"Thank you also for taking the time to detail to your opposition to the portion of HB 2002 that protects gender-affirming care for minors, and for sharing these resources. HB 2002 ONLY expands gender-affirming care without parental consent to youth over the age of 15, and does so to PROTECT youth whose parents may not support their decision to seek such care." (Emphasis added.)
That isn't "protection." It is state-sponsored child abuse and the deprivation of parental rights without due process in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment. All that remains is for Tina Kotek to empower Oregon's Child Protective Services to "protect" children under the age of 15 by terminating the custody of parents who are unwilling to submit them to gender-affirming care. Who knows - we may already be there.
Thanks for writing about this.
A lot of traditional gay journalists are finding themselves backlisted for expressing ANY skepticism about "statistics" that purport to show 20 to 25% of middle school girls "affirming" their "trans nature."
It was only 40 years ago that a different group of people claimed that most child abuse was being perpetuated by members of the Church of Satan, who supposedly dominated the upper reaches of law, medicine, and academia.
On 8/28/23 OPB (which I know once claimed to be a legitimate news source when I worked for them in the 70s) aired a vituperative dismissal of any claims of Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria (which many European pediatricians are starting to credit) ending by claiming that "WHO could possibly know better their own true gender identity than a 12-year old?"
OHSU has been my go to medical provider and since I'm not trying to affirm myself as a different species, I hope to keep receiving care there. It is significant that the once-small Gender Health program at OHSU has increased its gender surgeries amongst minors over 700% in just the last decade.
